About Pamela Levin
PAMELA LEVIN,
R.N., is an award winning author, nutritional journalist and world renowned innovator in the fields of
physical and emotional health. In private practice since 1970, she draws on over 42 years’ professional
experience.
She
wrote Your Toxic Metal Burden:
How to Safely Lighten Your Load in response to reports from clients and
readers. As a result, she grew
concerned about the dangers people were encountering when undertaking a heavy metal detoxification
process without adequate and knowledgeable support.
She came to understand that even undergoing a toxic metals challenge
to find out if one has a toxic metal burden has to be carried out safely and with the support of a
skillful and experienced clinician who understands the dangers and how to address them.
She learned about how
to manage them safely both through professional trainings, her own metals detoxification process
and supporting clients in undertaking theirs. Your Toxic Metal
Burden summarizes what
she learned.
Although her earlier private
practice focused on personal counseling she soon discovered that some of her clients' emotional issues -
especially malaise, depression and anxiety - were driven by physical
health issues - particularly a toxic metals burden.
The
focus of her private practice, books, articles and online
resources is assisting
people to improve their physical and emotional health and to train health professionals in these
methods.
She is a graduate of the University Of Illinois, and
studied Transactional Analysis (TA) with its founder, Eric Berne. M.D. She was the first nurse to be awarded
Clinical, then Teaching Membership in its international organization. She has completed 500+
post-graduate hours in advanced clinical nutrition, herbology, physical and emotional healing and
women’s health issues.
For her work on the cyclic process of
emotional development, she received the prestigious Eric Berne Memorial Scientific Award by the members of the
International Transactional Analysis Association. Now used internationally by parents, counselors, teachers and
therapists, her work is the foundation for a parent education system, Self-Esteem, a Family Affair and Growing up
Again; as well as John Bradshaw's book and PBS
series, Homecoming.
Her public speaking career includes professional and lay audiences on four
continents. She contributes a local newspaper column on health and is the founding editor of the free,
bi-weekly online health improvement newsletter, BetterHealthBytes. Her articles and books have been translated into
10 languages and have sold over 100,000 copies worldwide.
She is the
founder of The Nourishing Company, which provides
print, audio, video and online media resources for physical, emotional, spiritual health
improvement. You can access other books and materials you can use to support
your better health and greater well-there.
She is the mother of two grown children and grandmother of
